Consultancy and Training Services for the Manufacturing Industry

Experts at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology are available to help identify and solve powder and particulate handling problems that may occur during the manufacturing process. This may be through consultancy services or through training.

Consultancy Services

Based within the School of Engineering at the University of Greenwich in England, the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology has extensive testing facilities to evaluate problematic bulk materials, ranging from a simple processing step through to a mock-up for a whole handling process or logistics chain, at full scale or near full scale.

Experts are also available to offer advice on powder and bulk materials handling, whether via a quick phone call (often at no cost), a remote ‘site visit’ via video or by completing a desk study using existing data to make outline evaluations on operation or plant design.

Areas of expertise include

  • Pneumatic Conveying
  • Storage and Discharge of powders and bulk materials
  • Material flow and characterisation
  • Plant and equipment design
  • Expert Witness services

A comprehensive range of services can be found at https://www.gre.ac.uk/engsci/research/groups/wolfs...

Training

The Centre also offers industry a suite of training courses to help delegates identify and solve bulk materials handling and storing issues. Courses are currently being delivered on-line with the expectation to include face to face training once restrictions allow. Bespoke training can be arranged for individual companies.

Some courses coming up that may be of interest include:

Powder Handling and Flow for Additive Manufacturing: a guide through the critical aspects of powder management for powder-based AM processing

Pneumatic Conveying System Design: in depth exploration of detailed calculations for design of pneumatic pipelines and specifying plant (Advanced course)

Rotary Valves; Design, Selection and Operational Issues: an exploration of the different valves and features available

Overview of Particulate Handling Technology: introduction to the storing and handling of bulk materials, equipment selection and design methodologies for safe and reliable plant.

Full registration details and course content can be found on the Short Courses pages
