The popularity of the Manufacturing Solutions conference and exhibition organised by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) & GTMA, was in evidence over the 15th and 16th June with over 100 exhibitors taking space, an increase of 25 per cent from the previous show which aims to showcase manufacturing technology.

Manufacturing Solutions was founded at the University’s Moylish campus, Ceratizit UK & Ireland continues to play a major part in its success. “We have had a longstanding relationship as a technology partner of the Technological University of the Shannon, so we were happy to support the show from the outset,” says Dan Atkinson, Ceratizit’s Marketing Co-ordinator North Europe \ Marketing (UK & Ireland). “Our involvement goes beyond simply exhibiting as we also provide a wide range of tooling of all of the live demonstrations that the university runs throughout the event.”

The work that Ceratizit UK & Ireland undertakes with the TUS as part of its ongoing relationship includes close cooperation between Ceratizit’s application engineer Shane O’Donnell and the University’s Mechanical and Precision Engineering lecturer John Walsh. This collaboration is helping to improve processes with new tooling provided to support the students’ development.

The increased interest from exhibitors and visitors is testament to the strength and potential of the manufacturing sector in Ireland, where aerospace and medical engineering lead the way in technological advancement. “Ireland as a whole has been an exceptional market for Ceratizit for many years and one that we will continue to support through enhanced customer support from our resident team of technical sales and applications engineers.”
